Herrenchiemsee Palace of King Ludwig II of Bavaria

After breakfast, we go pick up Mr and Mrs Wang for the outing.  Once again, I have to thank you, Dr Mayer, for preparing the sumptuous breakfast every morning !

We are heading to Herrenchiemsee Palace of King Ludwig II, a replica of Palace of Versailles of Louis XIV in Paris.

Mr and Mrs Wang, friends of Mayer's, visiting Germany for a day only, after a vacation in Hungary, in returning his computer to office.

We then have a walk around lake Cheimsee

Burghausen Castle, longest castle in Europe

It rains this morning, so we had a walk in the bushes, picking mushrooms with the two dogs.

We set off for Burghausen Castle in the afternoon.  Burghausen Castle, 1,043m, is the longest castle in Europe, in Upper Bavaria and the border of Austria.

Berchesgaden National Park and Lake Koenigssee

Today we set off for famous Berchesgaden National Park.  Cara welcomes me in the garden before breakfast.

My travel begins at Bavaria ..

At 6:30 am I arrive in Munich Airport.  Dr Mayer, I wanted to thank you once again, for driving 1.5 hour from home to pick me up.  My tour in Bavaria begins ..

Beautiful weather and plenty of sunshine.  It is still very early in the morning.  Boss drives to the first stop of our tour, Passau, "Three-river City", his hometown of 2,000 years old.  These pictures overlooking the picturesque town of Passau ..

Attend a mass in the beautiful catherdral of Passau at noon.  Both of us are so sleep deprived that we fall almost asleep in the midst of the organ playing.  

     

  

 

Have had a stroll in town and, to our pleasant surprise, find a Wing Chun kungfu studio; visit the former house of Mayer's family, where he points to the attic, showing his little kingdom during childhood.

Visit the flooding mark of the City Hall, followed by a stroll by the waterfront, and enjoy a lovely breakfast under the sun.

Layover in Beijing, June 22nd

Get to Beijing around noon ... haven't been to Beijing for years, so I play tourist. 

Take the airport shuttle to World Trade Centre to look around.  Enjoy a tea and cake at the Sweet Spot before I head back to Beijing airport.

Travel by subway to airport, costing 25 yuan, which I find very efficient and convenient. 

24-hour trip to Munich ..

It is 3am below.  When go up to the departure hall, I find out that a line is there, in front of Air China counter, formed by pieces of luggages ......

the night before (Thur, June 21), after a 5-hour wait in the lounge and in the aircraft, the pilot finally announces, we are heading back from the runway to the airport to disembark ! 1am in the morning !

No accommodation arranged, we spend the night at HK airport. 

At 6am the next morning, the queue turns into a chaos.  A cluster of passengers screaming in front of Air China's desk for a seat ! 

2 hours after, all distressed passengers get a seat on the next flights to Beijing. 

Mine departs at 9am, and gets to Beijing around noon.  I am not able to catch the next Lufthana departing mid-day, and had to wait till midnite to catch the same regular CA flight to Munich. 

It is on Saturday morning when I get to Munich, a 24-hour delay in arrival !

酸薑

一斤砂糖,一斤米醋...個人口味可以減糖,就會酸

糖醋加一隻紅椒,三粒梅子半茶匙鹽,慢火至微滾熄火放涼備用

子薑切片或切角,每斤用兩茶匙鹽醃一小時，,再沖水至淡撈起滴乾水份

即可放入糖醋中,約七天就可以食用....

糖醋可以醃芥菜,紅白蘿蔔等等等等

京都大蝦、魚香牛柳

做法:

做六隻大蝦斤四左右算

紅椒粒薑蓉蒜蓉少許、芹菜花蔥花少許

紅椒粒薑蓉蒜蓉起鑊

加半茶匙辣豆板醬和兩湯匙酒釀爆香

灒酒加入半碗清湯和四湯匙茄汁

糖鹽調味

入大蝦埋芡洒上芹菜花蔥花淋麻油即成。

其實真的有菜館係用京都汁來炒乾燒明蝦, 鍾意就得。

做法如果蝦真係大大明蝦,就先挑背脊沙腸,用大滾水烚至七八成熟,先至走油,

唔係好難熟,特別係雪櫃lor出來

細蝦蝦滾油一炸就可以

煮魚香牛柳都可以。
